From our beginnings in the 1950s designing housing across the North East, to today’s work supporting leading housebuilders, our approach to residential design has remained consistent, prioritising practicality and longevity.

Many of our early schemes remain in use today and continue to serve the communities they were designed for. That same thinking carries through our current work, where quality and performance come together without compromise.

Designing for Delivery

We work across a broad range of residential projects, from individual developments and prototypes through to large-scale housing portfolios. We support the design and ongoing development of house types, ensuring they are responsive to context and aligned with evolving standards. From Prototype to Portfolio

Placemaking
From earlier projects such as Montagu Court and Spacehus to our more contemporary portfolio, creating well-considered neighbourhoods has remained central to our approach. We consider how developments are experienced as a whole, looking at how streets connect and how people move through a place to create neighbourhoods that feel coherent and designed for everyday life.

Innovation
We develop and test new approaches to housing delivery, from bespoke configurators to more comprehensive tools such as Travis Perkins’ WholeHouse. These tools improve coordination and make the design and build process clearer and easier to manage. Each is developed with practical use in mind, supporting delivery and improving outcomes.

Supporting Delivery
As experienced residential designers, we collaborate with housebuilders and their teams across all stages of their projects, responding to design queries, coordinating information, and producing house types and layouts at pace. We work across schemes of all sizes, providing the technical understanding needed, with consistent information and a level of detail that can be relied on.
