Lucas Walton

Trainee Architectural Technologist

An Evolving Young Professional

Joining as part of the 2025/26 Graduate Cohort, Lucas Walton is the youngest member of the SPACE Architects’ team. Having recently finished school, Lucas is full of ambition and drive and has settled seamlessly into his first professional role.

His passion for architecture and technology makes him an ideal trainee, with a deep interest in how buildings and structures influence both function and aesthetics, from the Neolithic period to the modern era. Lucas’s first few months at SPACE have consisted of supporting numerous commercial projects, where he has produced detailed feasibility studies and contributed to drawing packages and planning submissions.

Outside of the office, Lucas is a budding musician, having played the guitar since the age of six, often learning new songs, writing his own music, or producing on a DAW. Other interests include watching football as a Newcastle supporter and drawing with graphite pencils, where he produces realistic portraits and landscapes of local architecture. Lucas’s creativity and curiosity to develop his skills aid him in his day-to-day work, where he is noted as an inquisitive and dedicated trainee.

Since joining the team, Lucas has demonstrated an eagerness to learn and expand his architectural knowledge, constantly evolving as a young professional. His proactive mindset and readiness to step forward demonstrate that age is no barrier to meaningful contribution within the practice.
