With a Deep Enthusiasm for Historic Architecture

Jack Thompson is an enthusiastic and determined architect. He studied at the University of Portsmouth and Robert Gordon University before registering as an architect in 2024. Jack brings creativity, technical knowledge and a strong problem-solving mindset to his work, with experience across healthcare, office, residential and education projects.

Jack’s interest in architecture was shaped from an early age by his fascination with cities and historic places. As a child, he collected models of well-known landmarks, a hobby that helped spark his lasting passion for architecture, heritage and conservation. This early curiosity has stayed with him, informing the way he looks at buildings not only as places to use, but as part of a wider story about people, history and place.

His experience spans a range of sectors and project types, including hospital ward extensions, internal refurbishments, private residential work, a stonework façade for a local store, and a 544-bed student accommodation scheme in Coventry. On the Coventry project, Jack particularly enjoyed the opportunity to use innovative technology, including the HP SitePrint Robot, to print floorplans directly onto concrete slabs.

Outside of work, Jack enjoys playing golf and watching cricket and football. He is also a devoted reader of historical fiction, particularly novels by Bernard Cornwell, C.S. Forester and Terry Pratchett. Jack loves to cook, with a particular fondness for Italian beef sandwiches.

Jack’s considered and analytical approach bring a distinctive strength to the SPACE Architects team.
