Part I Architectural Assistant
A Thoughtful Advocate for Heritage and Community
Hannah Rolfe embodies the spirit of collaboration, combining a genuine passion for heritage with a strong commitment to serving the local community. Joining SPACE Architects as a Part I Architectural Assistant in the 2024/25 Graduate Cohort, she has, in just over a year, become a trusted and valued member of the team.
As a dedicated Part I who consistently looks beyond her immediate role, Hannah actively engages in volunteer work that influences policy discussions and contributes to the preservation and protection of the built environment in the North East.
Once a month, Hannah volunteers as a member of the Newcastle Conservation Advisory Panel (NCAP), acting as the youngest professional on the panel. She contributes to discussions and reviews that guide planning proposals affecting listed buildings and conservation areas across Newcastle. This role reflects her sensitivity to both social and economic considerations, as well as her commitment to cultural heritage. Her efforts were recognised when she was shortlisted as ‘Culture Champion’ at the 2025 YAPF Awards.
Within the studio, Hannah’s warm and personable nature makes her a natural collaborator. She has settled seamlessly into the SPACE team, bringing curiosity, openness and a strong sense of shared purpose to every project. Colleagues value her thoughtful perspective and the care she brings to both conversation and design.
Outside of work, Hannah enjoys travelling to new places and experiencing different cultures, as well as practising photography. These interests reflect her inquisitive mindset and her appreciation for context, history and place.
Hannah is an aspiring architect who is not only building her own career but actively contributing to the protection of local heritage and the continued strengthening of the SPACE Architects community.
