Senior Architect

Driving Projects with Initiative and Experience

With a high level of professionalism, and the initiative and technical problem solving required to be a Senior Architect, Gillian Cockett is a crucial member of the team. She is responsible for leading design aspects of architectural projects, providing excellent quality designs to meet, and often exceed the client’s brief and requirements.

Having contributed to a host of projects in a range of different sectors, including higher education and leisure, Gillian helps to nurture and support the next generation of professionals. She contributed to the transformation of the Murray Library, at the University of Sunderland, into a Centre of Health Excellence, creating a productive hub for Medicine and Psychology Students, as well as the Pasteur Spoke and Library Branding, and Library Decant to DGIC Level 3 for the same university.

All of these projects involved the remodelling and refurbishment of existing buildings, incorporating different types of study spaces and a range of enclosed study rooms. Currently, Gillian is involved in several ongoing refurbishment projects including the Splash Redevelopment, Oxbridge Lane Primary School, and St. Peter’s Library.

Gillian is a big fan of badminton outside of the office, enjoying playing and watching her children compete in tournaments all over the country. She also enjoys walking and loves nothing more than scaling a large hill in Scotland. This drive and determination translate into her work role, where she often faces problems with resolve and open-mindedness, applying her extensive practical knowledge.
