Space Architects was founded by Arnold Waring and Leonard Netts in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1957. The practice was recognised for its quality social housing and, as a result, our work grew steadily in size and scope. We expanded into the education, commercial and health sectors and cemented our reputation with an award-winning portfolio.
In 2005 the partnership became a limited company and in 2007 we moved into a new headquarters – Spaceworks, in Newcastle.
Our purpose is to make the architectural world better for everyone. Our vision is to set the pace in everything we do.
Our people are creative in their thinking and early adopters of new approaches and technologies. We focus on the outcomes required by our clients and work hard to deliver these within the parameters set.
To add to this, our constant exploration of ideas, within a culture of teaching and learning, creates a sense of excitement. We work hard to expand our thinking and challenge ourselves every day.
At Space Architects we build on and learn from the past, but we always look to the future. We’re dedicated to understanding our client’s business, their plans and objectives.
We believe our clients’ success is our success. We look to build long-term relationships, where we can help our clients succeed both today and in the future.
We are always looking ahead and constantly considering how we can improve quality, reduce costs and save time on each project we undertake.
In recent years we’ve invested in digital technologies, sustainability and offsite fabrication, all of which will be part of the future of the design and construction industry.
